Yep, I've got a bunch of extra stereo equipment and my Lionel train collection that I need to start selling off. I was able to sell all but a few of my case knives from my collection, the ones I wanted to keep. However, I'm not ready to reduce the gun collection![:D]

That's why I use eBay. I've sold things on eBay that most people would throw away. Keeps my "stuff" down to a minimum.

I've been trying to clear out our junk around the house. I have a pickup truck full of toys I plan to drop off if I can find a charity that actually gives them away instead of reselling them. Any suggetions for such a place?

    That is exactly my problem.

I think he meant like when he owned a cardboard sign and frequented freeway offramps.

How I've accumulated all this stuff I do not know. For example, does one man really need 17 fishing poles [:0]

Fishing poles keep me busy moving them around my shop from bench to bench...leaning them all in this corner before I move them to that corner.
They are constantly in the way.

It's gotten to the point in my basement work room, there is not one flat surface that isn't covered with crap. I can't find anywhere to work on anything! I have a lot of hobbies and a lot of stuff, and most of it is good stuff, but sooner or later it's got to go.
Maybe it will end up in a Giveaway pile!

Ten years ago, everything I owned would fit in a Honda Civic Hatchback.

Five years ago it would have taken 1.5 of such hatchbacks.

    Today.....uhg. maybe three?

I'll be moving soon. It's a good excuse to purge a lot of those items that I haven't even touched since they last were unpacked.

I've tried to have a yard sale for months and months. The whole move led to piles of crap being tucked away in the barn....and the pile is growning daily. By the time I actually have time to have that sale the barn will be STUFFED!

My son can move, and have everything put away, in ONE day.

He was giving us a hard time this fall, after spending most of the summer (one day a week) helping us pack and move "stuff" that we are going to keep. Also helping us get rid of what we were able to this year.

He can NOT phantom how we accumulated all this "stuff" especially after spending the last few YEARS getting rid of truckloads of it. 13 trailers, and a spare house full of it. House basically had just an isle you could walk through, in most rooms.

We had yard sales that were talked about down in town. (wife heard ladies talking about them, in the grocery store) Then pack up what was left, and give it to ARC. Repeated as necessary. Countless loads to the landfill.

We are down to probably 2-3 yard sales next summer, a load to the recyclers (copper, brass, aluminum, etc.) 1-2 loads to the scrap iron recyclers, one trailer to sell (once it's empty) and a load or two to the landfill.

    I might mention, I LOVE Craig's list. [:D][:D][:D]

    Don't give up MVP.
I only had ONE item that I took to the iron scrapper, that I had to go out and buy later. It was WORTH IT, to get rid of ALL that other "stuff" IMHO.

yep... I just spent a month... moving.

I try to think of my stuff as tools, and I try not to horde books anymore. Books are meant to be read.

We've moved 4 times in our 4 years of marriage. We haven't had time to stop and have a garage sale yet, but I sure hope we can soon or we'll have to buy a bigger house!
