I'm here and alive. I've got to take the midnight to 8 AM shift until my damn brother in law comes back from vacation. Upside is lots of OT! [:D]

Alive and well, and hurtin like hell! (the excesses of my youth are here to remind me: here is where I fell out of the barn, there is where I flipped the tractor, there is from the barfight in the Phillippines, there is from a car wreck....guess the Lord is helping me remember!) - it is raining again.

First time driving one...at a friend's ranch in Fla - they had a BRAND NEW MF Turbo-Diesel tractor, they decided to put it to the test, and pull a stump they had been trying to get rid of. I drove the tractor to where they needed it, and they hooked it up. All eyes were on the stump - I put it in Low/Low/Low range, released the clutch, advanced the throttle just off idle, and watched over my shoulder, just like everybody else...Suddenly felt something touching my other shoulder - turned around, and it was the steering wheel, as the tractor approached vertical, nose up!! Stepped off the seat, took one step, and the tractor flipped over, burying the stack! They had hooked the chains to the lift point, not the tow point! The rear axle walked out from under the attach point, and it flipped the tractor. They were all on the other side of the tractor, and were sure that it was on me, but were relieved when I walked around from the other side...limping cause the tractor had hit my heel/ankle, and broke it - Scratch one shiny new MF! They didn't blame me - I felt bad. Their Insurance paid them off, and they replaced it right away - They still invited me to visit, but I didn't get to drive anymore....years and years ago, and far away.
