Any Men of the Cloth on this forum?

I have a friend who is in need of learned religious men to address the following questions. If anyone here is in that category and would take the time to address these 6 questions and return them to me through our PM mode, I would be very grateful.

I am a student at the Washington Bible College. As a research project I am to communicate with leaders of different denominations to inquire of their views concerning the Bible. Would you have the time to answer a few questions pertaining to the Bible?

1. In what ways does your church believe that God has revealed Himself to mankind?

2. How does your church define Biblical inspiration?

3. How can individuals come to understand the Bible?

4. Do you believe that the Bible contains errors?

5. If the Bible contains errors in which areas?

6. Can a individual trust the Bible to lead them towards an intimate relationship with God

    im not a religious man, but im a christian, does that count?

    1. personal accounts and written testimonies.

    2. what does it matter what my church thinks? its what GOD says thru his word.

    3. jesus said, " no man comes unto the father lest he be drawn near."

    4. the bible has grammatical errors due to improper translations, but the meaning is clear as a bell.

    5. between the 1st and last page.

    6. "trust in the LORD and lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your path," the bible is tool for believers. without JESUS in your heart, it wont make sense unless you ask him to be your saviour. THEN you ask him to show the bible truth to you.
    but then again, since the WORD is inspired by GOD, the words themselves will reveal truth just by the meer fact that they were written by the direction of GOD by mans hand. the whole purpose of the bible is to show mans hopelessness without GOD. once you realize this, it will all make sense.

    1) God has revealed Himself through the Word. The Word is objective, and absolute. God reveals Himself subjectively, that is to each of us in different ways, but since we're invested in subjective revelation, it must all be judged on the basis of the Word. "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things". 1 Cor 2:15

    2) Biblical inspiration is God speaking and that having spoken, having been written down comprises the scriptures. "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets (the Old testament), hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son (the New testament)....Heb 1:1-2a

    3)By reading it. And then reading it again and again, and realizing it is a book, with a beginning, and ending, and a context, and that it reveals God's eternal purpose and our role in that purpose.

    4)The bible contains apparent errors, but we must realize that the New testament was written after the fact, and that writers were reporting events subjectively, with inspiration from the indwelling Holy Spirit. Never are any two eyewitness accounts of a major event identical, and so the New testament reflects this. However, the bible is the single most coherent and perfect document ever committed to the written word. If there were no apparent but reconcilable errors, the bible would be a patent and obvious fake.

    5)Just one example....in the accounts of the 'Thief on the cross' coming to repentance, "The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth". Matt 27:44, and, "....And they that were crucified with him reviled him." Mark 15:32b. Those verses indicate that both thieves reviled the Lord Jesus.

    While Luke has one repenting and saying, "....Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." Luke 23:42. There are 68 other apparent errors in the four gospels.

    6) An individual can trust scripture to reveal enough of God to lead to repentance and salvation, followed by a spiritual life.

    In John 14:6 Jesus says " I am the way, the truth, and the life ; no man comes to the Father but by me." So by His own admission, Jesus is the only way to heaven. So He is the only way ( which I believe) or He is lying and He is no way at all. So believe in Jesus (John 3:16), repent of your sins ( Mark 1:15) and follow Jesus (Matthew 22:37) [:)]
