These things come in threes, man. First will always be ELVIS, then in this case, Phil Rizzuto and Merv Griffin.
Sad, man.0 -

Yes, the Scooter was a great one among a bunch of greats. There's few left, Stan the Man is still going here in Saint Louis but can't have long to go. 0 -
Damn, I used to love when he was on Letterman, telling stories about the pranks he and Yogi Berra used to play on each other. Some of them were pretty brutal, but seriously funny.
Seems there was one when Yogi intentionally/accidentally shot a cow.0 -
I had a sticker of Phil when I was a kid back in the late '40s that was about 6 or 8 inches high. I stuck it to the back of one of the 4' tall doors of my grandmother's food pantry in her kitchen. She was really mad. But, as the years rolled on, everytime she repainted the pantry, she would paint around the sticker and not touch it. Everytime I went back to the old farm to visit, long after she was gone, I would say a prayer and thank my granny for that. My brother still lives there and only the outline of the sticker remains. I'll call my brother tonight....He will want to know.

I wonder how much money people still owed him, when he passed-on. 89 is old though, and he said he had a perfect life....Onna the greats... Jeff 0 -
