I know there are a large group of people which seem to require a carry gun. Just wondering if anyone has needed it for self defense.

Thats a more personal topic, and from what I had read, on dads laptop, it was getting a little over the top.

Yeah, I've shot several men. Back in the war I killed so many they stopped giving me the Medal of Honor lest I exhaust the supply.

The most memorable kill I achieved was at two and a half miles with my trusty 1911. Some jihadi was aiming an RPG at a group of children and I fired off one shot and pegged him right through the left eye.

That one earned me my fifteenth Silver Star.

And a million dollars from a grateful, freedom-loving government.

Turns out one of the kids was a nephew of an Iraqi princess. She showed me her gratitude as well, if ya get my meanin'.

It was some FNG to the board, he started the thread so he could tell his own story.

a yugoslavian I knew has been shot with a .38 3 times, grazed with an AK twice, and he was in a patrol with 28 men when one of them stepped on a land mine (bounding type) which killed them all except him and 1 other. he survived because there was someone directly in front of him.

he probably has shot a few people.

he doesn't care about guns or fighting. he doesn't like any of that.

all of the ppl I talked to who were in the military in other countries don't want anything to do with guns. they've been there and done that, seen enough. though they might own one for protection.

overall information I get form them: military, good. shooting at each other and people dying, bad.

That is what I said yesterday. And I feel a topic like that has no place on a public forum!

My guess is that you'd get more lies than truth in a thread like that. Most who have shot someone probably did so during armed conflict in a foreign country. Who would yack about that on a forum? I wouldn't and I don't know anyone that would unless there was very good reason for the question---not something as casual as "have you ever shot anyone?"

The closest home depot is about 20 miles from me and lowes is about 4 miles, so I go to lowes![;)]

I shoot a lot -- sometimes in self-defense, mostly to be funny.

The other night I shot one off and the dog, in turn, shot me a dirty look and walked out.

I have to be careful about shooting at night. The wife tells me to take some anti-gas pills or to sleep on the couch.

Yes we find that machetes are much less expensive than guns and not as wasteful as bullets and does not contribute as much to global warming, so we just chop off their heads.
