A great video. I think these two announcers covered the whole thing pretty well. I believe it was a reporter trying to make a name for herself by implying that this man was "trigger happy." It backfired on her. As I understand Texas law, the shooter was well within his rights to kill this thief. I have heard that this law also applies to individuals trying to repo your car. We'll hope the grand jury finds no liability on the shooter's part. 0 -
The question: WERE YOU IN FEAR OF YOUR LIFE? is one of the "test" questions asked by the police / court system in TEXAS. Generally, if you say "NO" you are probably in trouble. Night or darkness is another.
It IS NOT something a reporter should ask while her ass is in front of his car door and the microphone stuck in his face.

Many states are revising their laws regarding self-defense in one's own domicile, business or automobile, if they are IN it.
Here in AZ, things have recently changed due to the Harold Fish case.
No longer do you have to prove you did everything right, the powers-that-be have to prove you did something wrong.
Further, if you are not found liable for any charges in criminal court, no one in the family or, should you be a poor shot, your surviving assailant, can bring charges against you in civil court.
Remember, Bernie Goetz. His conviction was minor. However, the civil trial destroyed him financially...
