Use your imagination; it's safer.

Cutco knives are made by Alcas Corp., whose headquarters is about 15 miles from here.
Excellent quality knives. Got a kitchen set for a wedding present in 1990, and they outlived my marriage. Still use them everyday.0 -
Just bought the wife a set. Very nice set of cutlery for the money. 0 -
I used to sell them. Good knives but way overpriced.I don't like the handles at all and the paring knife is just junk. 0 -
I've got a couple and I like them. They are expensive, but they're made in America by the same folks that make Ka-bar knives which have traditionally been carried by our grunts in combat, as personal purchases. I still have the Ka-bar that my Dad carried in WWII, and I just won another(Tanto style) in a giveaway on another forum.
One of our forum members - Pabooger - works at the factory, so you might email him for more info.

Pretty spendy to buy new. Try to find used, and send them in for refurbihing. I got my set in trade for a Raven .25 over 20 years ago. sent them in once. Came back looking like new, haven't needed to be sharpened again. Also picked up one of their hunting knives at a swap meet in OKC for $10. That came back looking new too. Their guarantee is forever, for anyone who owns them. Way better quality than any cheap oriental stuff out there, unless you want to replace your kitchen knives every couple years. 0 -

Actually, they look new because they ARE new. Cutco and Ka-Bar (same company) offer lifetime warrantees but they don't do any repairs - they simply replace your knife with a brand new one.0 -
I have some and love them. I'm trying to have a complete set from steak knives to any other ridiculous kind they have. It will take awhile since they are very expensive, but they are worth every penny and the handles are nice to grip too. 0 -

Pa has nothing at all to do with my liking the knives. Kind of like being Jewish and having fun at Oktoberfest. One has nothing to do with the other. 0 -
I don't know about Cutco, but I do like my Browning cutlery. I've had it about 3 years and I just sharpened them last week. Great knives. My wife doesn't much care for them. The steak knives are great.

Those Browning knives look pretty good, and should even do well in a dishwasher with the Micarta handles.[:)] 0 -
Cutco Made in the USA. I have several Cutco knives. Most of them are vintiged from the 50's and 60's. Some of the best knives i have ever owned. My other kitchen knives would be Case if they still made kitchen knives. If you find a set of Case XX Kitchen knives buy them. If you find a set of Cutco knives you like buy them also. My 2 cents [8D] 0 -
Clouder wouldn't know a good knife if he had it stuck up his butt, but that isn't possible because his head is so far up it , he will never get it out!!!!![:D]
As far as Reload goes, she wasn't complaining about me when I gave her a Cutco, she has to be really careful that she doesn't cut herself, because she has really thin skin!!!![;)][:D] Oh wait that knife was for Big dogs wife not his girlfriend!!! OOPs how soon I forget!!!![:p]
Cutco knives are expensive, Ive worked there for the last ten years, somebody must like them, we sold $170,000,000 worth of them last year!!! Overpriced maybe, but evidently most people don't mind paying top dollar for an American made, high quality knife with a forever guarantee!!!
We aren't called the Worlds finest Cutlery for nothing!!!!

This is not true, if the knives can be repaired, we repair them, if they are unfixable, we then replace them with a new one!!!! We have around 20 or so people in the repair dept who do nothing but resharpen and repair customers knives. Some customers are very attached to their knives, in some cases they were their parents, they are very vocal about getting the original kinves back.0 -
Bought our set 50 years ago right after we got married.
Including both the hunting and fishing knives.
still use the kitchen knives everyday, likewise the wife.
Just sold the hunting & fishing knife today at a local
gunshow for $35.00 a piece, about what we paid for whole set!!0 -
Lifetime Warranty, and Lifetime shapr /Resharpen service. Mom has had a set since about 1958 - still good. I think that CUTCO is best for a Wife who does not have a husband who knows how to sharpen knives.
HOWEVER, I love Knives, and Cutco is NOT anywhere near the quality of Forschner, My favorite Brand.
That Said, there IS a CUTCO knife that is The Best In The World of its type: the Sandwich/Spreader knife. I give it to Newlyweds as a gift. I often hear that it is the gift that they use the most, and have had folks thirty years married ask me for another.0 -

One of the guys in our hunt club is a professional meat cutter.I noticed when he processes his deer all of his personal knives are Cutco. 0 -

i use to sell them and yes they are very pricy but top quality. they are worth the price but go on ebay and you can save tons if you bid right.
they base sales on hiring high school and college kids on summer break. its smart and a little low as they push you to sell to family and friends. either way a lot of kids buy the starter package for $100 maybe win a few more items and then leave the biz. now i kept mine (ended up with a pretty big set through prizes) but most kids could care less about having a set of kitchen knives and sell them to get there money back on ebay. and like most stated i have seen old beat up ones on ebay real cheap and if you send them to the company they will most likely send you brand new ones0 -

I'll be danged. I heard from the kiki bird that you got your feelers bent again and went off to pout. Pout over then? Good, hate to see a grown man make a fool of himself
some more.
And yeah, y'alls had me locked out from day one. Whatcha feared of, Daisy? I'll be gentle.[;)]

Not professional quality. Have a look at Henckles, Forschners or Tridents. 0
