When I need something sweet, it's Peach Cobbler, Lemon Lush, or Strawberry Shortcake.

    BAKLAVA!!
If I lived near a place that had baklava, I'd weigh 350 lbs. I'm sure I could subsist quite well on a diet of it and Lindeman's Framboise Lambic Ale.

is this considered a sweet?! looks like a sloppy joe. [:p]

Baklava is one of the oldest known Turkish flaky pastry desserts. Its popularity goes back to the time of Sultan Mehmet (15th century) of the Ottoman Empire.

    Ingredients:

a.. 500 grams of filo pastry
b.. 300 grams of unsalted butter (melted)
c.. 2 cups chopped walnuts or pistachio nuts
    Syrup:

    a.. 500 grams of sugar
    b.. 1/2 litre of water
    c.. Juice of 1/2 lemon

    1- Preheat the owen to 180 deg.celsius (350 deg.fahr) and grease a 25 x 30 cm baking dish.
2- Brush dish with melted butter.
3- Place one sheet of filo pastry in bottom of dish and brush with melted butter.
4- Place another sheet of pastry and brush the top with melted butter.
5- Continue this until you use half of the filo pastry.
    6- Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
7- Place the remaining layers of filo pastry, brushing each one with melted butter.
8- Brush the top with melted butter and cut into diamond shapes.
    9- Bake until golden.
10- To make the syrup, place the above ingredients in a saucepan and boil on medium heat stirring constantly.
11- Let simmer for 15 minutes.
12- Pour hot syrup over cooled baklava.
13- Allow to cool and absorb syrup before serving.

if you like pecan pie you would like baklava

i know i started this thread but i regret it now, it's got my sweet tooth activated, i will add German chocolate cake, chocolate covered cherries, fruit pies{homemade by myself of course}, every Christmas i make about 50 pounds of homemade chocolate, rock road made with fresh pecans, homemade fondant with several flavors dipped in chocolate, and a creme de mint filling, one with a chocolate cake filling, and peanut butter fudge, some rolled into shapes, dipped in milk chocolate that put Reese's to shame

I have a weakness for chocolate bars. I prefer Ghiradelli chocolate, but anything will do in a pinch.

i drive about 70 miles to a pecan farm for the best pecans i have ever had, very fresh full of natural oil the way they where intended to be, not that dried up crap from costa rica you get in the stores, and it really shows in the quality of the pie, i make about 4 reg ones, and a bourbon pecan pie every Christmas

Perry's "Death By Chocolate" Ice Cream.

    Kruschiki from the Broadway Market.

Baklava rocks, too. One of my best friend when I was growing up was Lebanese, so I got the real stuff, not the filo dough you buy in the stores nowadays.

    Brownie sundaes.....with strawberries.......

or chocolate-covered strawberries, for that matter....
