Lady at this weeks Gunshow...
Table after table of guns, tables of ammo, reloading equipment, then a table with Lady with picture of teenage boy, table of various road kill jerky. Ooops Back up what the heck? Must be some anti-gunners here today. Well I think I'll just check this out. Don't know why, I know couldn't heckle a mom that lost a child to guns. But the lady had such a kind manner about her I thought I'd stop and listen to what she had to say.
She was talking about how her son had been killed. While she talked I browsed the literature on her table. Let it be said right now that this lady was special. She wasn't there to bash guns, but to promote gun safety. Her main point wasn't all about locking down all your guns as it was about making sure that your children knew every little detail about gun safety. Not just telling them to never touch it.... But what to do if they find a gun. How to hold one safely. To keep it pointed to the ground. Every little detail.
I'll not post her name as I never asked her permission, but if you see her at one of your local shows stop in and say hi!!!
I was hoping to find a website to share her story, but her card only has her name, phone number and a simple message. "Please talk to your loved ones about Gun Safety"

She sounds like a great person to have on our side of any argument. I like to hear that there are people who see the answers to bad things that happen and not jump on the extreme side. 0 -
