Will Bush Sign New AWB Bill ?
He said he would. If Bush does anything he does what he says. If he signs it then I suggest an end to the current Republican party. I am already leaving the party that I have been with for 18 years. They dont represent what I believe in anymore and I guess Bush doesnt either. I am now emailing every republican official I can find and letting them know how I expect them to vote. Will it matter ?

You are funny! Bush is at the end of his time in office. Do the new socialist commie Democrats represent your new way of thinking?
Or will you jump ship instead of voting for a true conservative like Newt (if he runs) or Fred Thompson. Several others, Huckabee, etc.0 -
I dont know about you but thats why i have yet to say i am either. or. 0 -
Well it is rumored that he is an idiot....I reckon we are about to finally find out if 56 million people voted Forrest Gump into the Oval Office....
My Two Cents..."Yes, he is that Stupid"0 -

you didnt answer my question. i will answer yours though......NO, the socialist democrats DONT represent my views and I most certainly wont be voting for any of them. However, I cant see myself voting for the same crop of do nothing republicans who wont seal the border and who are being too PC to win the war in Iraq. I also am not voting for the current crop of republicans who havent vetoed a single spending bill either.
I want a REAL conservative like Newt0 -
I agree with you there, last time the republicans had balls was in his revolution 0 -

I think we're fighting an uphill battle no matter who gets in there. Unless Thompson by some slim chance gets the vote. 0 -
Newt Gingrich for President 0 -

sounds like a typical californian to me0 -
It won't matter anyway with a Dem Congressional majority. 0 -
There is no way Bush will sigh an AWB. NONE.
It would be death to the Republican party in the next election. It would be consider demoralizing to the base. There is not a candiate to bring out the fundamental Christians. They last thing they want is to give those that respect the Second AMendment a reason not to vote in the next Presidential election.
Think about it. Bush is not going to concede this one to the Dems. He learned a lot from his father's errors.0 -
If it were to get to his desk how long would it take? 0 -
However long it would take for everybody to leave the room...so he can sneak the signing in.
How touching...the bushbots that still believe in their messiah..0 -
Bush is irrelevant. He knows that he is very unpopular, he doesn't care. I bet he will sign it just to spite everyone.
Should he sign it, it will be an end to the Republican Party, the damage control they will need to do will be legendary.
The issue is not in the presidency, but in the Congress and Senate.
Democrats know that last time the tried AWB, they lost a LOT of voters. The same "grassroot" voters that they are trying hard to get.
I doubt that they will be THAT stupid. Though in USA we have an "Evil" party and a "Stupid" party. One party produces Evil laws, the other produces Stupid laws, sometimes they cooperate.
Though the hysterical post menapausal women in Democratic party may be pushing it. The more somber heads will prevail, I hope.
We probably will get some form of toughened gun control. "One gun a month", or maybe "Buy guns only from FFL dealers", but I doubt they will go for an outright ban. At least not for the next 10 years.
By that time, we shoudl all be well stocked on AW. Frankly, the way this is going, I hope I will be in Canada by that time.
I actually think that quite a few of us, who want to live in an ENGLISH speaking country (and not the Spanish speaking one), will be heading for the northern border.0 -
remember that bush doesnt have to make anybody happy. he's in his last term, therefore no chance for re-up. he has more money than he'll ever need, so no worries about post presidency career options. he's already going to go down in history as a poor and unpopular pres. where is his motivation to serve his constituency at this point? if the bill hits his desk, he wll decide, based on personal opinion, whether or not to sign it. not the opinion of his cabinet, the senate or congress, or the poeple. just him. one lonely retard at the big desk. and this is from someone who voted for him. twice. 0 -
I suspect that he would not sign it. He would love to tick off the liberals some more.
I agree that Thompson should run.
I do not want to vote for Rudy but he would probably still much better than any of the Dems.0 -
Rudy would make a good Democrat.
There is no way President Bush will sign any form of an AWB. It would be suicide for the Republican Party. While he is conciliatory towards the Dems, he has learned from his father's errors.0 -

You are correct and Bush has no love for any of the crowd that supported McCarthys legislation.
I suggest that he will never sign that bill!! He is pro-gun all the way and plays them to think he might sign it, he won't. My opinion of course and we will have to wait and see what happens[;)]
I hope a miracle happens and the bill is killed on the house floor or in the senate.[:0][:0]0 -
Honestly I figure he would be facing an awful lot of party pressure to let it die. Signing would sure hurt the chances of a republican to be elected in 08.... 0
