Face to Face
I need to know about Face to Face gun sals in florida. Legalities, information i need to get from the buyer, ETC. Any help is surely appreciated guys.

i don't live there myself but do know a couple of guys that do, from what they tell me , i don't believe there is any requirements other than checking to be sure they are old enough ,
some guys want a bill of sale, other don't , i guess you would do what you feel you need0 -

The best way to do a FTF is record name address and license number on a bill of sale.
That way when the firearm is used in a crime and the paper trail stops at you, you can produce the bill of sale and the guy on it will need to answer to the BATF.0 -

i don't know why you would need too , if you are worried about some thing happening with the gun down the line , just make sure you get the buyer info , ie name , address ect and keep that so if some thing ever does come up you can show that you sold the gun , to that person on that date0 -
No, private sales do not require any paper work. I, personally, would get a bill of sale, but it is not required. As for notifying the shop that you bought it from, I definitely would not do that. I just reviewed the Florida laws listed in "State Laws and Published Ordinances - Firearms (ATF 5300.5). Having said that, I am not a lawyer (my parents were married), so do not rely on my opinions[:D][:D] 0 -
just looked up state laws, no background check required on face to face gun sales, not even a requirement in the state of florida to register your gun! 0 -
Hey Suburban,......we are in the same state. Hand over the gun, collect the money! Make sure of age though, if there is any question.
Also I would get as much info as possible, like the guys DL number, and address, and probably a signed bill of sale,.....just in case.
But you don't HAVE to do anything, other than the age thing.0 -

When I sell a firearm face-to-face, I don't even ask the guy's name. Same when I buy one - first name only.
I am not worried about the ramifications.

Yep that how I do it too......I trust my judgement of people... Hell the only people that have ever screwed me are all family and freinds....All of whom are no longer on my Christmas card mailing list!!!!0
