The greatest, most realistic survival movie that ever has graced the silver screen. Jeb should be everyone's role model.

Red Dawn is playing on SPIKE right now.

It occurred to me that this might be a good flic to give to your undecided/liberal friends and acquaintences to serve as an object lesson for firearms rights.

    What do y'all think ??

Red Dawn is coming on TV for about the 5th time in the last couple of weeks. Think TV is telling us that the zombies are coming?

I have always liked that movie.

great movie. when it came out i was like 12 years old and immediately started preparing for a soviet invasion. I organized about 5 of my friends into an "army" and we had 6 rifles and plenty of ammo. we had battle plans and bunkers and we were prepared for war. the invasion never came. but now there is a mosque down the street and a broken border 2 hours away. who is the real enemy now ?

Has anyone here ever seen this movie? As a kid I watched this movie regularly. I watched it last night and was thinking that an invasion from the south by Mexicans, and Venezuela, and whatever other countries would join, along with the already huge population of illegal aliens already here, they could probably put up a good fight. If our guns were banned, they could for sure. This is purely theoretical, but have any of you thought about this? Very few Americans are gunslingers like us.

I don't think an undecided person is going to think that a "secret Russian invasion" is very likely. A better reason would be plain old self-defense and self-sufficiency.

Well I don't know about that, It is somewhat educational, Before this movie I was not aware you could fill your radiator with pee in the case of absence of water.
As a side note this will not work in the absence of gasoline.

What! You mean bad acting, next to no plot, and totally improbable circumstances don't make for one of the all time classic movies?

I was just certain this one was right up there with Gone With The Wind.[;)][:)]

Ya..many older people are always upset that in the movie, adults collaborated, feted, and swooned at the feet of the enemy...and docily filed away into camps....and left the fighting up to youngsters.

Funny...I can see exactly that happening, here in America....adults worshipping people that are busily taking away rights as fast as they can...

So if it coincides with your political opinions, you have to think it is a well done movie regardless of the lack of quality?

I like the movie, it was entertaining. It's a movie, it's supposed to be entertaining that's all.

The movie was lacking in production values and the plot was shakey at best but showed all too clearly what the Soviets actually did once they occupied a captured territory. Find some collaborators, blackmail a few people and force them to do their bidding, drag some folks out of their homes, lock them up in camps and then shoot a few for good measure. The only thing missing were the Russian language classes and the forced adoption of the Cyrillic alphabet. Ask someone who lived in Poland, Bulgaria or East Germany about the movie because they saw it all first hand!

Fictional movies are not the best basis for winning the gun debate.

In the 15 minutes of the movie I deliberately watched, all I saw were a bunch of people crying/hugging/crying again/hugging/crying/riding on horses/crying/etc. I can only assume the movie gets better, but with stellar dialogue like "Avenge me! AVENGE ME!!!" the chances are slim.

As to showing this to some liberals... no, good god no! The situation is completely unrealistic. No country would be foolish enough to attempt a land invasion of the continental USA, and if they did, they sure wouldn't choose some backwater rural town to invade. Liberals would scoff at its improbability and its over-the-top, cheesy patriotism.

A more likely scenario would be our own government turning against us. That is the real reason we have firearms.

    In....

20 years China will be the largest industrial nation in the world. They are already consumming 1/3 of the worlds steel and concrete.
35 million chinese still live in caves.

In 30 years China will require another planet earth just to supply all it's needs.

It may well be another "Red Dawn" but with different players this time and no matter what............WE WILL LOOSE![:(]

They will be coming out of their borders. It is not a question of if but when.

We must pay no attention to the Chinese and continue to focus on our holy war against Islam in order to save the planet! The boys in Beijing no doubt look at this waste of our military and resources and laugh.
