Arizona School Suspends 13-Year-Old Boy for Drawing Gun

MESA, Arizona -
Officials at an Arizona school suspended a 13-year-old boy for sketching what looked like a gun, saying the action posed a threat to his classmates.
The boy's parents said the drawing was a harmless doodle and school officials overreacted.
"The school made him feel like he committed a crime. They are doing more damage than good," said the boy's mother, Paula Mosteller.
The drawing did not show blood, bullets, injuries or target any human, the parents said. And the East Valley Tribune reported that the boy said he did not intend for the picture to be a threat.
Administrators of Payne Junior High in nearby Chandler suspended the boy on Monday for five days but later reduced it to three days.
The boy's father, Ben Mosteller, said that when he went to the school to discuss his son's punishment, school officials mentioned the seriousness of the issue and talked about the 1999 massacre at Colorado's Columbine High School, where two teenagers shot and killed 12 students, a teacher and themselves. Mosteller said he was offended by the reference.
Chandler district spokesman Terry Locke said the crude sketch was "absolutely considered a threat," and that threatening words or pictures are punishable.

Just think of how the children, that are currently in school, will feel about guns, when they get out in the real world. And are able to VOTE.

You better believe it. The Teachers Union is one of most far left institutions in America. And for a reason. Part of the communist doctrine states to start young on the "re-education" of targeted societies teaching "Political correctness". That's right. The term "Politically Correct" is a communist quote!
If it's anti U.S., they're teaching it our schools. Even that the U.S. was the bad guys in WW-2!
My teenaged daughter invited me to play she was in. Put on by her HS drama dept. In the play she explained, the charactors represented various nations of the world having a discussion. And the U.S. was the stupid one wearing a dunce hat. Simply halairious she thought.
I declined to attend and explained that was very disappointed that she would participate in such a play. Much less think it funny.0 -

And someone was asking why so many kids are medicated?...Dont allow the kids to doodle, play, think etc....they MUST be controlled..they MUST remain calm... 0 -

it is a simple drawing. not sure if they still do but all guys and girls had to take home etc in school, you know sewing, cooking ...
also there was shop class to learn about basic maintenance. maybe there needs to be gun class mandatory in schools to teach respect, saftey......0 -

The school will darn well make sure that the kid knows what a homosexual relationship is and how it's just as legitimate as a straight one because three of the kid's classmates have a mommy and a daddy-mommy. It's interesting how the separation of church and state has led to even greater mind-control than you would have ever found in a Christian school. Yes, I went to a Christian grade-school whose beliefs were strongly influenced by John Calvin--a theocrat at that. 0 -
Not only that, but they are hippocrites. They want more social programs via higher taxes. But if you say why don't just cut foriegn aid the same people who don't believe in God will say we can't because it's un-Christian. 0 -
