State Lawmakers Pass New Ohio Cable Law
DAYTON, Ohio -- A new Ohio law designed to increase competition among cable television companies may be good for consumers, but it may be bad news for the city of Dayton.
City officials said it wipes out their ability to negotiate local cable contracts. The new law shifts that responsibility away from cities and gives it to the state.
The new law passed, even though every major city in the state opposed it.
The new law takes effect in September. It allows cable companies to negotiate one contract with the state, rather than hundreds of agreements with cities across Ohio.

This is the first I've heard about this..and frankly I don't like it..Under the old law if enough people went dowm to the city council and bit***d things got done ...Now it would take a freaking statewide petition to even get a hearing...I'm thinking graft is at play here!!!!
