Something along the lines of the classic-stocked custom rifles I used to drool over in the old Gun Digests. Mauser action, preferably a small ring, 6.5x55 or 7x57 Mauser, crafted finely enough that those who know guns would see it's no factory piece -- but not so fine as to not want to use it. Something I intend to build -- someday. 0 -

Well, if that's your dream, you had better learn what caliber it really is before someone rips you off. It's a 408 Chey-Tac (Cheyenne Tactical).0 -

.416 Barrett...
I watch a segment on the military channel where they put the .416 barret
up against a barret .50 bmg. at 2,500 yards, the .50 took 4 shots to hit the black.
THE .416 Barret took 1 shot from a cold barrel to hit the 8x ring![:p]0 -
EDM rifle in .338 Lapua. Would love the .408 but I have Caliber restrictions at the gun club.

Floyd621: I have to agree with you. But, alas, I had to settle for the poor man's version.
.375 H&H Whitworth. English Mfd. Express sights, Barrel mounted sling, etc. NIB for about $400. Looks Identical. Save for the name, of course. Joe0 -

Reading the title, I figured this was about Oswald getting three aimed shots off with a Carcano in under six seconds. [;)]0 -

Very Nice Rifle and Very Very Nice Group[8D]0 -
Belive it or not My favorite is the Winchester 22 single shot my daddy gave me as a christmas present when I was 12 years old.
In the last 48 years it never failed me. I've sent too many rounds to count down the trusty barrel. Wouldn't trade it for any or all the rifles thalked about on this thread.
Thats just my way of thinkin,Thanks for understanding0 -
New;
any high end bolt gun will do for me. chamber it in 338 Lapua or that fancy new 408 chey-tac round
old;
would definitely be a SS deaths head marked K98 Sniper
Marine 1903 Sniper
or a WWI 1903 Sniper
