Online training RANT!!!
Seems like every week I have to do some "mandatory" training online. The training is offered online so that is quick, easy, and convenient. To that I say...well I can't say what I want to say!!!! I've been working on a 1 hour online training course for the last three hours!!! The page is SLOW and keeps crashing. ARRRGH.

We just did our online sexual harrassment training. What a PITA. It took an hour just hitting next, next, next, next, etc. 15 sections 35 pages each. I took the tests first, then just blew through the verbage. I was told it takes a long time because we are required to have 2 hours of training/year. 0 -
Yep, Computer Based Training. Sounds high-tech to the managers. They will also use it against you if you foul up. "Hey, he was trained!" B.S.! Read three pages on Safety Instrumented Systems and answer three questions and you're qualified to work on shut-down instruments on a cracking furnace. It was five questions but they had to dumb it down so the engineers could pass it. 0 -
Your out of memory! Quit putting "GunBroker WEB page" on your tool bar while your in training! We have T-1 here...You on dial up? The lines from your side of the mountain are not as dependable as Gnd. Jct's...
Nice elk BTW...We only saw two 3 point bulls...One was almost "ground checked"....Maybe next year...

Prior to deploying to Iraq I had to take a slew of online courses which had NOTHING to do with going to Iraq. I mean alcohol abuse and picking up prostitutes were not real worries over there. We also had to use military computers(slowest in the world) and as we were reservists we had to wait for all these hormone hopped up 18year olds to get off the myspace pages in order to use one. 0 -

The training (the parts I did read) were hilarious! Pictures of a girl bending over at a file cabinet and a guy with a sh&& eattin' grin on his face.
Then the vignettes, "If John is Sally's boss and calls her into his office and slaps her face with his exposed Johnson, then tells her there's more where that comes from if she wants a raise, would this be considered sexual harrasment?"

Used to happen all the time where I work... that's the problem when the entire company decides that they need to access the same training. It overloads whatever server the training is on. Now they have wised up and certain groups do the training on specific days depending on their last name. A-H on monday, I-whatever on tuesday, and so on. 0
