I too am angry about my job
Yeah, I know I said something about enjoying it last week. Catpealer isn't the only one to have days where your annoyed and hate it. It also happens in the civilian world.
There is a woman who does a job that is normally considered a "man's" job. It is very physical work. She is also constantly trolling for a lawsuit. Typically she's looking for a sexual harassment settlement. Not going to give her that opportunity with me though.
Therefore, she is trying to position me and the company for doing nothing in an emotional harassment case with the guy she is working with. She continues to make claims that he is treating her poorly and forcing her to do all the dirty work. It's bull. The guy is extremely passive, but he is all the lead man of the two. It's his job to give her orders.
She makes claims that cannot be backed up. I don't see it, and there is no company person there on the off shifts.
I don't like getting played or positioned, but while doing this job, I don't have any authority to discipline. If there was something to her complaints I can't take action except notify those above us. Fortunately, there is nothing to her complaints. All I can do is relay what I see or hear to those above me on day shift.
Consequently, all I can do is send emails every time she does something wierd, out of the ordinary, or makes a complaint. I investigate, take any corrective action necessary at the time, but other than that all I can do is document anything and everything.
I feel like some boob that is incapable of handling any problem, but that's the position I'm in. All of these complaints by her are extremely stupid, but in court a lawyer would make them sound legitimate. I relay emails describing her complaints and what I see or don't see. I can't review someone's performance. I can't reprimand. All I can do is "talk seriously" to someone not doing there duties.
I don't like being in this position. On one hand, I always suspect those above me would use me as a scapegoat if they had to save their butt. On the other hand I don't want to be that boob that doesn't have the leadership to do the job (without the authority).
Go ahead, tell me to suck it up.

Millions of people have been laid off and find themselves unemployed or underemployed. The next time you find yourself frustrated, just say "Want fries with that", or, "Welcome to WalMart". Suck it up, or, find another job. 0
