State Motto...

Missouri's is - "Salus populi suprema lex esto " - The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law."

To that, I fall back on the State Slogan - "Show Me!"[;)]

    The state motto of Florida is "In God We Trust,"

    "In God We Trust" was adopted as the official state motto in the 2006 Florida Legislative Session by the enactment of Chapter 2006-282, Laws of Florida.     When I first read it, this is what I saw.

    Missouri's is - "Salus populi suprema lex esto " - The welfare people shall be the supreme law."

    And I thought, "That can't be right. That's Louisiana's motto"

    A few years back we (the taxpayers) paid a consulting firm upwards of $500,000 for a new State "Brand" at the request of our current Governor Ruth Ann Minner. So, what did we get ?

    "It's good being first"
