I need to vent!!!
OMG I am so mad right now [:(!] [:(!] [:(!] [:(!] [:(!] [:(!]
I havent been working for a while now, and yesterday I got a phone call, and got offered a job to start in 1 week. It paid really well, so I said sure I'll take it.
So today, I am looking at buying some boots for my new job, and my phone rings. Its the guy who offered me the job. The first thing he says is I got bad news for you. I was like oh? "yeah, the guy I phoned before you didnt want the job, but he changed his mind today and wants it, so I have to give him the job." I was like OK. Said good bye, then hung up the phone....
Geez why the heck would you give me a job, get my hopes up, just to phone back in a day and say, nope sorry, you cant have it now.. This makes me extremly angry. I thought my bad luck was going to change, but I guess not....[:(!]
And the thing that really sucks is, I all ready told my parents, and family I had a job. Now I have to tell them that I dont have it now....[:(!][:(!] [V]

i would of said something cause thats wrong. the first guy denied it, and he called you and you accepted it, he should of told the other guy off unless there family or something. you must not of wanted the job bad enough. 0 -
Sounds like a wishy washy boss if he is that flakey about hirering then how flakey would he be on payday.
Keep looking and you will get a job.0 -
I feel your pain. I had a job offer on a Friday and showed up on the following Monday next ready for work. Tried to let the guy that hired me know I was there and he wouldn't talk to me. After about an hour, he sent someone else out to tell me that he'd hired another guy! (This was after I'd gotten up very early and had driven 40 miles to the place of business).
I was as pizzed as you are and fumed all the way home.
A couple of days later, I get a call from a local guy and interviewed for the same type job. I was hired for more money and didn't have to drive 80 miles a day.
When one door closes, sometimes another one opens.
The guy that hired you and backed out would be a jerk to work for, and even as bad as you needed the job -- you're better off not working there. Another and better job offer will come along.
Back to the guy that did that to me. Three years later I'm advertising for help, and guess who shows up looking for a job... that same dumb azz -- he'd been fired, and was hoping I didn't hold a grudge and would give him a job. I tore up his application in front of him, and had security escort him to his car.[:D]0 -
Thanks for the positive advice. But lately all I seem to get is doors closing, well not closing, more like slamming in my face. 0 -
keep putting in your time searching for a good job, sooner or later the odds will kick in![:)]
In the meantime have faith in yourself and more importantly, the Lord!

I know what your going through. At the time a person NEEDS a job, any job, even if the boss is spinless, a weasle, or just respects no one whose butt he's not kissing. THe guy would have been trouble to work with.
What kind of moron would hire a guy who turned him down. Loyalty? The guy will be gone in minute for another job. Only a fool would hire a guy that turns him down then says "yes please".

A similar thing happened to me just recently. Got told I had a job - nice pay, too - and that I would start in three weeks.
Next day I get a call and was told sorry, but upon review of my resume, I didn't meet their needs.
Two weeks later I learn from a buddy of mine that not only did I have the job and not only did I have a good enough resume for the position, but that I was bumped for a less experienced friend of one of the execs.[:(!]
I just put it this way: if they're willing to screw me over like this, I didn't realy want to work for them. An employer, or anyone for that matter, who cannot be taken at their word is less than garbage and ought to be treated as such.0 -
+ 1.. Trust the old and experienced guys here. You don't want to work for a company like that. Keep your spirits up and keep looking.
