Got one here that's going in the trash real soon. Didn't use it for a month, then it didn't work. Called Epson's tech support line, they wanted a credit card number, just to talk to me about it. Told them that wasn't gona happen, they said they were sorry, I said yup, you folks are. No more Epson products under my roof again.

I really like my epson stylus photo r200.

It is about 3 years old and never a problem. And the print quality is excelent. I print photos and you cannot tell they were done on a printer, they look like I had them done at the photo place.

My Epson C84 has a similar problem. The alcohol drizzle is supposed to work by dissolving the dried ink that's clogging the nozzles but after a dozen tries - each one with an overnight wait as recommended - not one iota of improvement.

And, the printer now thinks that all of the brand new cartridges I installed are out of ink and it won't even cycle through at start up or through the printer's maintenance program on my PC.

I agree with what the others said. Get an HP.

I just googled the problem and found there's a load of info from using Windex to reattaching a purge hose after flushing clogs out of it. It's said to be a rubber glove, dirty project requiring forceps and a syringe to get ink flowing properly.
This printer gave us good results for text and photos for two years.
Several people recommended HP which has its'print heads built into the cartridges.
Our other printer is an HP that works well but doesn't do as good a job on photos.

Epson had a class action law suit against them about six months ago. It had something to do with a program they have that won't let the printer, print if a cartridge is low.
