Ugly Guns
It always gives me a chuckle when a group of guys can come to an agreement that a gun is "ugly". I agree sometimes. It speaks volumes for our addiction.
Just what does make a gun "ugly"? It usually has absolutely nothing to do with "utility". It sometimes has nothing to do with the presence of wood stocks. Do you have a favorite "ugly gun"? What do you think makes a gun "ugly"?

The huge, cheesey, faux gold Desert Eagle with the enormous beavertail and engraving is flat out butt ugly IMO. So are the majority of HK's with the overly thick grip and grip safety, IMO. 0 -

To me any square handgun is ugly. Pistols should be round (or at least rounded in the case of the semi-autos). The cheap RG type revolvers are ugly because they are so obviously CHEAP. I dislike the Glock design and all the guns that copy the Glock look because they are so square (they feel like grabbing a 2x4 as well IMO).
I also hate the race-gun looking 1911s. The extra grooves that the front of the slide look awful, as do the extended safety tangs and slide releases.
I have a rifle that many people call ugly. It's one of those little "Destroyer Carbines" and the stock was in terrible shape so I painted it in my conception of a desert camouflage pattern. Most hate it but I think it's cute.0 -

Yep, it is trully fugly, but I would recommend it to anyone, anytime... And even with all the hype it has been getting it might just be under-rated... I love this firearm.0 -
