What do you think about "POACHERS"?

Here's one i found right here on GB!! This CRAP really Pissus [:(!]ME OFF!!
Yes that's POACHIN. Season on Snook starts 9/1. If he "paddled to shore" with it, he "poached" it...

Woke up early. Put my 9' kayak in the water about 1 hour before sunrise. paddled about 250 yards to a dock with a light. Made 3 or 4 casts, and paddled back to shore with 33" Snook. got home before the wife woke up. What a life!

    I know many who kill them all year around for freezer meat. Thats the way it is here in WV anyway. Most landowners can get crop damage permits without much hassle.

    There are alotttt of poachers in this area. Some get plum carried away with it though. I had one guy bragging to me that on avg. he kills 2-300 Deer, and 2-300 Turkey a year. I guess he had a market for it somewhere. I told hm that i'd not turn him in, but sure wouldn't mind seeing hm get caught.

    Years ago the co. i worked for would go on strike..rather often. During those times I would feed the family by taking game..not always in season. A game warden happened to drop in the local gen. store once, during strike, and i laid it on the line to him.
    I told him that i'm often in the woods getting food for my family, and if he wanted to bust somebody for poaching..it better be some of those 200 per yr. guys.

    Illinois had a loophole last year.

    You can hunt coyote at night in the fall and winter with any rifle except during the weekends of the first and second shotgun season for deer. During shotgun season, you can only use a rimfire on coyotes. Basically, if they find you out there with a rifle during shotgun season, you can't use the excuse "I'm hunting coyotes."

    Last year they had a very rare third season for shotgun on deer. A poacher could have used the coyote excuse then and gotten away with it, unless of course he was in possession of a deer with a bullet hole.




    Sorry, after a couple of years reading OSHA rules to the letter, I tend to notice these little oddities. Such as, a Permit Required Confined Space must meet the definition of a confined space BEFORE it can be qualified as a PRCS. If it meets the definition of a PRCS but does not meet the definition of a Confined Space, then it is ot classified as a PRCS. Yeah, I know...who cares.

    With the abundance of deer and turkey we have here in southern Iowa, I would never have a fit at anyone who would kill a doe or a tom out of season to feed their family. We have in the past had some people poach out of season just to cut the heads off of big bucks and leave the meat lay. Those are the guys I would turn in in a heartbeat. They are scum.

    Around here it's just plain lousy with deer. If anyone takes a deer around here to feed their family during hard times, as far as I'm concerned, they are doing a public service. There is already to many road kills and banged up vehicles. Dave

    I know a taxidermist that used to deer hunt(poach) in the Cook County Forest Preserves near Chicago! He used a tree stand and a 22 mag. He killed(poached) some awful big bucks........
    I look too forward to the legal deer seasons to fill my freezer and walls with illegal animals.
