Gave my muzzleloader away
My 8 year old G-daughter did not get a deer during gun season and wanted to try with a muzzleload season. I told her that my gun had never missed and that if she did not jinx it and did the deed she could have it.
The gun is a bit heavy for her and she has to lay it on a rest.
She called me Sat. morning and said " Pap I just got me a new gun this morning ". She took a doe at aprox. 50 yds.
Wish I had been there.

Great for her and you both! You'll never regret losing the gun [:D]. 0 -
Great story!
What kind of muzzleloader?0 -
Congrats to her. Sounds like if you are goimg to loose a gun, you lost it to the best possible person you have. A pat on the back for bringing those kids up right. 0 -
i couldn't think of a better way to dispose of a firearm so i could get a new one. That is an excuse that i am sure the significant other will buy. You might even get one for Christmas if you are nice to Santa. 0 -
You didnt loose a gun, you gained a Grand daughter that hunts. 0 -
Congrats! Have an 11 yr old granddaughter that shoots with me. She now considers several of my rifles "hers", and keeps casting greedy little eyes at my Ruger Standard Auto. Just remember, guys- in another 10 yrs, that little girl with the doe and muzzleloader will be voting on whether you and I get to keep owning guns. (HINT- take a kid shooting. If you don't have one, BORROW one.) 0 -
If I had gone through this whole forum for the last week, I couldn't have found a post that gave me more pleasure. That's wonderful! No other way to say it. 0 -
Now that is a GREAT reason, to give away a gun.
Congrats to BOTH of ya. [:D]0 -
