Nikon Scopes
I am in the market for a new scope for my Ruger no.1 and was wondering if Nikons were decent scopes. If you have any suggestions for a scope for around 100-150 bucks that would be cool. At my local Wal Mart they have a 4x32 for a hundred bucks so I'm considering that at the moment. Opinions?

Nikon Buckmaster 3x 9x 40 would be my suggestion.
You can find them in most shops for $200.
I have one on my Ruger MK77 in .223

They are good clear scopes that hold their zero well for the money. I'd say depends on the caliber of your #1, the #1 is a very accurate rifle. Chances are your going to want to do some good long range shooting. If so, and your looking for a cheaper scope, I'd go with a bushnell, not one of the china ones though. You can get a higher powered bushnell for less than you can get a higher powered nikon, but the nikon is damned fine scope for the money. 0 -
Nikon makes a nice scope...no where near the clarity of a Leupold, but a great scope for the price. 0 -

+1! It's better than a Leupold 4-12X40. It always amazes me how well I can see in low light. Heck, if there is snow and a full moon, you can see across a field.0 -
Monarchs are fine scopes, but I would choose Burris Signature Select. I have both plus others and Signature Select is my top choice for under $1000. 0 -
I hate to put a wet blanket on this, BUT have any of you tried to get one repaired?? I did about 4 years ago and they would NOT repair it under warranty and no it was not broke in half, would no longer hold zero. NO more nikon's for me. 0 -
