whats good name? been seeing alot of whistler or something... dont know much about those, cobra makes nice CB's but thats all I know about them

    Has anyone ever used this model? I'm looking for a decent one. I don't need the best, but I'm not going to get a $30 piece of junk. I'm not looking to be a speed devil or anything. Just want to feel a little more secure doing 5-10 over the limit. I'll also take recommendations. This one seems to have good reviews but who knows.

    Last year for Christmas my wife bought me the XRS 9530 Model. It works great for me. Near the bigger cities it warns you of Ambulances and such nearby.

    Stay within the speed limit and you won't worry about it and save money at the same time. [}:)] I'm always speeding a little and the worry has turned me gray. [;)]

    One big thing I will say about them is you need to "learn" yours. All radar detectors do basically the same thing but they all have their own personalities. Sometimes mine will beep and I know it is nothing. Other times it will make the same beep but I know that it is really a cop. Knowing yours is what will save you from getting caught as OFTEN.

    Picking up a new and speeding down the road will not do you much good.

    I credit my radar detector with probaby saving my life on a number of occasions. I can't count the number of times I have been driving trying to get home after a hard night's work and the only thing to jolt me awake was the bleeping of the radar detector.
