They haven't worn them out yet??

    They don't fight much??

Other than England, what other countries use the bullpup configuration??

Australia, Austria, France, Ireland, Iran, China, and Israel (the last two three [my mistake - corrected. Iran has not yet switched over to its .223 bullpup] are in the process of switching over).

Admittedly Ireland, Iran, and China have not had ample opportunity to test their bullpups in combat, but France's FAMAS saw combat in Desert Storm and the Australians have been using their AUG copies in every deployment since the 90's (I think that's when they adopted it). And what limited use they've seen, the Israeli Tavor has gotten some really high marks.

Monkey considering the first 5 countries listed are losers.
Why would they want to change?

    Too bad we maybe next.

That bolt trigger in the handguard looks very Armalitish to me. Copycats.

Actually England has decided to dump their bullpup, they have had too many problems with it. They had HK do the last "upgrade" fix to it and have decided not to put any more money into them and not buy any more of them at all. They are now in the hunt for a totally new rifle.

    Don't forget Israel's new 5.56 bull-pup.

    Who said bullpups are terrible?
    I REALLY like mine. [:D]

I am waiting to see the RFB by Kel-Tec in 308.
Been waiting for one in a 308 caliber.
It is a forward ejecting bullpup.
Should be out the first quarter of 2008. [:p]

I have always almost bought that bushy bullpup. never right price and time... good concept, with a couple hard to overcome flaws
    1. trigger linkage length=crappy trigger
2.action under your face= rude cycling(at least on e the ones I have tried (AUG)
    3. rearward weight makes it not point as much like a rifle

I really like BullPups. The AUG, Bushmaster M17s, a liitle on the heavy side, the French FA-MAS ok its French but it works, The Brits sreweed up the AR18 design and paid for it. My 2 cents. Give me a BullPup any day. My 2 cents [8D]

Bullpups are some of my favorite rifles, the AUG being my #1 favorite ... runners up are the AKU-94 which is actually a conversion built from an AK then the Bushmaster M17S, the Valmet M82 [:)]

Granted most bullpups dont have great triggers however just like military and surplus rifles they can be improved.

Too much blast when you're up close to the muzzle of a high powered rifle, MG or stocked 9mm / 7.62x25 pistol.
Bull pups would be an improvement for vehicle crews.
The most rediculous arrangement I saw were Enghish and Scottish guards
with their dinky-poo bullpups and fixed bayonets.
A knife or bayonet in hand would give one greater reach and mobility.

    ObiWan,

I actually read an article about the QBZ-95 and the author said that it had some good points and some bad points:

    Good points:
    - Trigger pull. Apparently they found a way around the traditional bullpup linkage system and came up with a new way to do it. Result: trigger pull on par with most traditional rifles.

    - It's well balanced.

    - Reliable. Several hundred rounds in one sitting without so much as a hiccup.

    Bad points:

    - Awkward plaement of the safety and fire select switch. The damn thing's located near the buttstock, NOT the trigger area. Kinda stupid, in my opinion.

    - Non-ambidextrous. If you're a leftie, get used to brass hitting you painfully in the face.

For once, I think the Chinese haven't copied anything. They may not have gotten it right, but at least they're trying.[;)]

    mrseatle,

Wasn't the ZM-87 the one that looked like the H&K CAWS?

  • CA sucks
Doesn't Singapore use the bullpup SAR-21?

    CA Sucks,

You are correct. I was actually interested in getting one of those a while back, but the import/domestic manufacturing deal fell through.[:(] Kinda like Barrett's deal to manufacture Tavors in the U.S.
