Took a long ride with some buddies and had a great time! We rode down to Glen Rose to see a retired co-worker who's sick, then to my home town area of Stephenville (home town is the next town, Dublin) to the Hard Eight and ate a pound of Texas beef, then up to Wichita Falls to see a friend's land, and back to Lewisville. Did a little over 400 miles, and had a blast![^]

Proved to my buddy that he wasted his $1800 on the stage 2 performance kit on his Fatboy, the Wing will still out drag him and out top him, and he's PO'ed. Big motor, 6 speed tranny, chipped, cam'ed, big breather, Vance & Hinns pipes, and he still sucks hind tit to a stock Goldwing. Sad, sad![}:)]

Now before you HD riders start telling me yours can do it, or you've already smoked one, I don't generally race or speed, but I've had three buddies HD's on four occasions fail to take me, and this one both before and after the stage 2 mods, so I'm sorry, but the proof in is the pudding, and it sure taste good![;)]

dont a stage two kit bring it up to 105 cubic inch? woulda thought he coulda hung with ya especially with all that other stuff he had done....

He did better in the drag, but fell short. He was way off on top end.

Yep, 96cuin to 105cuin, and he did do better off the line and on low end, but by third gear I passed him, and he tops out at about 110MPH. My speedo says I top out at 132 with the tall windsheild, but my GPS says I top out at 128. I can lower the windsheild and do a little better. Either way, I waved bye-bye![;)]

Most likely did all of that and forgot about gearing. Saw it many times when a guy builds a bike.

Had two Harleys. Loved them, but they were both AMF's, so you can imagine. Honda's run better, last longer, go faster, and never give problems. I've never kissed my sister, but since you have, I'll take your word for it.[:D]

Maybe he let yu win seeing as it was your birthday. Happy 232 a day late.

Know what you mean, ride a BMW LT, in stock trim it easily out runs Harleys with cams, pipes, etc. Sure does give them heartburn.

Did they let you park your Wing in the hog pen at the Hard 8? Tasty BBQ, i pass by there on my way to the ranch. As you drive by, the smell says turn in and get some beef....

Of course. We give each other a hard time, but we are all friends, and there's nothing but good people meeting up at the Hard 8.

well that's what happens when you put a Civic engine in a bike [:D]

(I love burning Honda cars even if I'm complimenting theit motorcycles [;)])

My 79 Wing was faster than my Fatboy even with a burnt valve. Basically a 3.5 cylinder engine at that point. Still beat the 2 cylinder Fatboy. My Springer will get up and go from 0-90 in a blink, but when you set one up for hole shots, you loose it on the high end and vice-versa. Rode a Voyager made by Yamaha, I think, drove it for a fella so he could bring his car. It was not as luxurious as a Wing, but it was comfortable enough for 500 miles a day and fast as a greased pig on a sliding board. If I buy another long range bike it will be one of them.
