Sympathy!
From the HAYS DAILY NEWS by R. W. Yeager Norton, Ks.
We need to show more sympathy for these people. They travel miles in the heat, they risk their lives crossing a border, they don't get paid enough wages, they do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do, they live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language, they rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day, every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans, I'm talking about our troops. Doesn't it seem strange that the Democrats are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops and are now threatening to de-fund them? Please pass this on, this is worth the short time it takes to read it.

...among a people who speak a different language...
That could be solved by bringing them home ASAP!0 -

Then why should we show them sympathy?
I think they need to be shown the respect they deserve, not molly-coddled and given false and empty rhetoric.
We have two options in my opinion: start treating this like a war rather than an election campaign so they can go about winning this damned war so our men and womens' sacrifices won't have been in vain
Or
We get the hell out, stop wasting the lives of our troops, and pillory the jackasses responsible for putting them in an untenable position (that was aimed at both Republicans and Democrats, by the way).0 -

Yep, there goes your true colors again0 -
dongizmo,
I'm sure the troops want you to come up and tell them, "Aww... poor baby... I FEEL your pain!"
Screw that. They knew what they were signing up for and I don't think any one of them flinched when told what they were in for.
Sympathy? I'll give them respect and support, but save the touchy-feely, cry-on-my-shoulder, hold-hands BS for people who want and need it.0 -

UhhHuuuhhh,

don gizmo,
I do not support the way the war is being fought nor the way their lives are being wasted. If our military must be asked to fight, they should fight for more than petty men and women's political ambitions.
As for the quote, I challenge you to find any soldier or Marine who would stick up for the men I was referring to. For the record, that quote you used so sloppily was in reference to some reservists who were looting in Kansas in the aftermath of that tornado.
You want to stick up for thieves, go ahead.0
