Here are a couple of auctions to give you a rough idea. Silver has dropped off almost 1.50 an oz in the past several weeks, but IMHO will rebound soon.

It's been hovering around 13.00 an ounce for a while now. Back in 2003 you could have purchased all you wanted for a little over 4 bucks an ounce. It's had ups and downs but it is out-pacing gold. Hard to tell what it will do from here.
I've heard that silver is being used in small amounts for many conductive electronics from tvs to cell phones. Individually, it's small amounts but collectively, it's a large amount disappearing every year that won't be recovered. Which is one of many factors that is supposed to be increasing it's value, but who knows. As was said, it was 50.00 briefly in the 80s.
Also, depending on the type, age, condition and location they were minted, they may sell slightly higher than the going price for silver.0 -

Prices took a little bit of a dip today, so it might not be bad to get it now. I'm not sure if they'll fall any lower, but I'm thinking precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, and lead[;)]) will take off in 2008 if the Democrats win. 0
