EMM
I sometimes wonder if you're a real person. Could you provide a link to a past post where you talked about your personal life?
Are you 2nd account?
Seriously.

Am I imagining this, or have your views changed radically in the past two years? 0 -
What'd I miss? 0 -
is it just me or does "the 300" look like quite possibly the greatest movie in the last 20 years? 0 -
Boring here. I guess we both have a fear of giving money to Bush. Lets just call it even and both give 25.00 to Sharpton. Don[}:)][}:)][:D][:D][}:)][}:)]

You were doubting that North Korea was sending Nuke stuff to Syria?
Report: Israeli Forces Seized Nuclear Material During Syrian Raid
Sunday , September 23, 2007
Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to Sunday Times report citing informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.
The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.
They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
Israeli special forces had been gathering intelligence for several months in Syria, according to Israeli sources. They located the nuclear material at a compound near Dayr az-Zwar in the north.
Evidence that North Korean personnel were at the site is said to have been shared with President Bush over the summer. A senior American source said the administration sought proof of nuclear-related activities before giving the attack its blessing.
Diplomats in North Korea and China believe a number of North Koreans were killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials.
Syrian officials flew to Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, last week, reinforcing the view that the two nations were coordinating their response.0 -

I'm thinking his views have changed. Either that or I'm going over the divide, 'cause I agree with the monkey more often than not any more![;)]0 -

I would agree...it appears as if many of his views have changed...although, he probably won't want to admit it.[;)][:)]0 -
We all evolve to one degree or the other. 0 -

spurge,
They most likely have. I'm not sure the change is all that radical, though. I still hate hypocrites, whiners, knee-jerk liberals, archconservatives, Mexican nationalists, anyone who refers to themselves as a dash-American, Arabs, Japanese nationalists, Zionists (not to be confused with Jewish people as a whole), black nationalists, neocons, welfare, gun-grabbers, Christian fundamentalists, Muslim fundamentalists, advocates for socialized medicine, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, and Babylon 5 geeks.
But seriously, having seen how things go, I'm less willing to put up with crap than I was a few years back - give an inch and some @$$hole will take a mile. I guess I'm just willing to put my foot down more... or given my druthers, up someone's @$$ if they get in my way.[;)][8D]0 -

I've noticed your views have changed quite a bit from what they used to be.0 -
A friend once said to me: "All my friends have changed and I feel like I'm just the same."
When I met this guy he didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't do drugs, was always clean-shaven and his idea of a good time was to get 12 hours of sleep.
When he made his comment about all his friends having changed he had become a moderate drinker, avid experimenter with drugs, casual smoker ,slept little, had decided that guys with scruffy beards were hot (he was gay), and was wearing a scruffy beard at the time, too.
As dheffley pointed out, change is inevitable and I've changed a bunch myself in my lifetime. But I think sometimes it's hard to evaluate the extent of your own changes. After all, you are still YOU[;)]
My family claims that I've changed radically since my divorce. I started acting on my interest in guns and allowed myself to enjoy watching football. And cut my hair so I no longer look like a hippy. And....hell, you get the picture. But I don't feel so different.0 -
Could it be, that it isn't EMM that has changed all that much? Rather, a while back, when he offered his opinion on some of the topics, he was met with (shall we say) a measure of resistance.
Since that time, events have unfolded that have allowed (forced) "others" to open their eyes, and see that "maybe....just maybe" he wasn't that far wrong with his opinions back then.
If he was the type, a couple of, "I told ya so" might not be out of line. [}:)][;)][:D][:D]
Change is inevitable. We all do it. Even EMM. [;)]
Some for the better, some not. And so the forum evolves.0 -
EMM and I had a couple heated debates a while back, but that's what made me like him. right or wrong, he stood his ground and up held his opinion with facts not fallacy, with logic not anger, and with grace and a sense of humor. And I do have to admit that during one such debate, some of my comments were specifically designed to spurr you on[}:)].
you're a good honorable man and I'm proud to call you a friend.0 -
Thank you all very much for the kind words. We all change and I like to think that my changes have been for the better.
And if I have indeed improved, I must credit this forum. A lot of folks here may not be college professors, but few can truly be said to be genuinely and clinically stupid. You state your opinions, you speak your minds, and you are never dishonest about it. That sort of integrity is hard to come by in this world and it opens one's eyes and teaches one that it is always okay to hear the other side's point of view, that there is nothing wrong in being informed.
If I am considered honorable, it is because I deal with honorable people. If I am considered intelligent, it is because I don't have to dumb myself down to talk to anyone here. And if I am considered friendly, it is because I react as I am treated.
I know we'll disagree in the future and will likely squabble, fight, and insult one another, but in the end there's no better bunch of people I've had the honor and privilege of interacting with.
Thank you and God bless you all.0
