Sad Day In Bay City Michigan
I have worked in a cemetery for the last 17 years. I have buried thousands of people, and none have been more difficult than the Fallen Hero that I buried today. His name is Pfc. Buffford "Kenny" VanSlyke. He was a Marine serving in Iraq and he lost his life to a snipers bullet. I was extremely proud of the tremendous support within the community. It was the largest funeral procession I have ever seen. Many people came out and lined the procession route waving the American Flag and showing their support for the family. Although I did not know the Marine personally, I feel like I lost a son or a brother. One of my fellow workers stated that he felt the same way. My thoughts and prayers are with our Fallen Hero and his family.

That is very sad! We have lost several boys from the Northwest area and our Harley club will meet the plane if requested and escort the body to its final resting place. Quite a change over the Viet Nam era.
Showing support for the families of the fallen is the right thing to do.[:0]0 -

God bless him and ALL our fallen heroes. I didn't know him personally, but the local news stations have been interviewing people who have known him, and they paint a glowing picture. America is much poorer for the loss of this Marine... [:(] 0 -
