Finally...Good news!
In May of 2007 I resigned(sp?) being an auto technician. I wanted to get out of the shop so I seeked training to get my CDL. I graduated on 07/01/2007 and on 07/07/2007 I recieved my class A CDL.
I have since been without a job[:(]...finding a job as a recent graduate with a CDL isn't all that easy, unless you want to go over the road. Which I didn't want to do because of my family (young children). Today I finally got the call back from a union affiliated co.....ABF freight. I finally scored a Great job and will be home everynight with my family[:D]

Did ya have that insurance that pays ya if you can't work? What's it called?0 -
Two months really wasn't all that long to search although I know it seemed like much longer.
Congrats. I hope the job proves to be all you want.
I drove an 18-wheeler from 1979 until 1993. All of my jobs were out and back day trips and you are right about those being harder to find than long haul.0 -
