Oldest grandson's new nickname
My oldest grandson has his learners permit, so yesterday and today, I let him drive me around to get some practice. When I dropped him off at home tonight, I told my son his new nickname was "Powerglide". He didn't understand.
I told him in the 50's and 60's Chevy automatic transmissions were named Powerglides. They had two forward speeds, low and high. So does he.
Any non-highway street, regardless of the posted speed, he drives 30. Not 29, and not 31. 30. If it's a posted speed of 20 or 50, he drives 30. [xx(]
On the highway, regardless of the posted speed, he drives 85. Not 84, and not 86, just 85. Doesn't matter if the posted speeds are 55 or 70, he drives 85.[:(!]
He's got low and high, so his new name is Powerglide.
