Bill of Rights vs The Patriot Act

The Patriot act is no longer in the news. Americans have such a short memory. Its a real problem and needs to be done away with. Call your Congressman and tell him to introduce bill to remove the "Patriot Act"!

    Always amuses me..how the garbage Elites take a word, twist it inside out, and presents it to the ignorant masses...who promptly swallow hog swill like it was purest Ambrosia.

    YTou can make book on one thing.

    Those that passed the 'Patriot Act' and those that support it have a VASTLY different meaning for "Patriot" then the Founders did.

    I personally support the Patriot Act. I can see how it might concern some people. I ask you this, what specifically about the act are you opposed to ?

    I'm opposed to anything that guts the Bill of Rights established by the first 10 Amendments of the Federal Constitution of the United States of America.

    For example the patriot Act allows a government bureaucrat (Not a Judge or jury) to disenfranchise my right to a court of law and declare me a none-citizen enemy of the state, I.E. an enemy combatant.

    Now if you feel that its OK for a black van to pull up to your house in the middle of the night and "disappear you" then you should have no problem with the Patriot Act.

    If on the other hand you feel that this type of government behavior is in direct opposition to over 200 years of American jurist prudence and common law then you should feel the need to change things.

    However...I feel one gains nothing by discourse with those supporting laws like that.
    Either one supports the Constitution...or one doesn't.

    Those that will follow blindly whatever they are told to by those in power are not open to appeals to their common sense.

    With all due respect, you are terribly mistaken. First of all, you didnt cite the specific article of the Patriot Act which allows that and second, the general ability that you alluded to is "somewhat" allowed....but with one important distinction. That procedure is NOT ALLOWED on American citizens inside of the United States.

    A little look back.
    There were a few bills introduced into the 108th congress.
    Guess there were a "few" legislators that had a problem with different parts the UNpatriot act.

    No Sir! If one has been deemed an enemy of the state then all bets are off. Anyone can be suspected. How do you feel about Real I.D.?
