Seller threatening legal action for feedback.
Can a seller sue you for negative feedback if he/she does not complete the transaction and you give them an F for it, eventhough that is a reccomendation on the site for giving that grade?

I'd say you have nothing to worry about. Your feedback was heroically restrained...I would've said much worse.
Save his emails refusing to send you the gun just in case he makes a stink about it to GB.0 -

I wouldn't worry. In fact, I would go further and complain directly to GB stating that you met the conditions of the sale and he refused to sell. He asserts he found a crack in the stock? I'd assert he found another buyer willing to pay more money, lied to you and there is no crack in the stock.
You can I believe amend your feedback - your's is pretty darn polite - and I'd state you won the bid, he refused to sell and you've complained to GB. I'd warn others to not buy from this novice and dishonest seller. Then I'd e-mail him and inform him that based on his message you'd had a change of heart & amended your comments. Let him look up the feedback with the expectation his threat worked - such a surprise!
I'd also doubt his assertion that he is an Attorney - feel free to inform him the truth is an absolute defense and you look forward to him demonstrating the damages directly resulting from your statement.0 -
By all means,give him negative feedback.You can leave any feedback you want.If he doesn't like your negative feedback,too bad.Complain to GB about this seller,I'm sure he will retaliate by giving you negative feedback also.Good luck. 0 -
The first amendment allows you say anything you want as long as it's the truth or your opinion. Let him sue and then you can sue him back for malicious prosecution. He won't sue because he knows you are telling the truth and no attorney would touch it. He's just trying to scare you because he's embarassed that he got caught in a lie. 0 -

Here is the conclusion of the ebay thing. note it is a California law that was upheld. It also seems that the lawsuit was filed against the seller.

Yes, anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason they want.
You can also file suit against the seller if you met all the terms of his auction and he did not deliver the goods. Upon winning the auction, you both entered into a legally binding contract to complete the sale.0 -
If you make a statement about someone in public that hurts their reputation you can be sued for slander. One ebay buyer was sued by the seller for harmful feedback and won. 0 -
