    Yes, I have seen one. There is one in my safe right now. I would be interested in another one, but your reserve is too much,as shown by how long you have had it for sale. I have been watching it go unsold for months. The 9x23 is a great round, and you can shoot it out of a 15 round $350.00 Witness 38 Super with no mods and it is more accurate than the Colt. So the Colt is not worth that much more, unless you happen to find someone who will pay for the name.

    I've always thought Colt collectors pay too much, but since I've never seen anyone twisting their arm, I figure that's just the market!

    By the same token, I've never thought the price of one firearm should be lower just because different firearm will shoot the same round ~ by that logic an HK Socom or stainless Match .45 is over priced because a Balister Molina will shoot the same .45 To me that's just wrong thinking.

    The HK Socom IS overpriced :) Especially since Socom hardly ever use it, they quickly and deridingly labeled it "The Brick" and continued to use the Sig P226. It is just one of those guns that the Rambo wannabes like to buy.

    how much would you sell yours for...maybe I can afford the matched set?
    what you didn't see was the gun bid over 1000 several times before I lowered it and...it has bid so close to reserve on many occaisions.
    I don't expect everyone who looks at a rare colt to appreciate them as I do but until someone does, I am happy to be the owner

    Won't sell mine, and I can afford yours, but I don't pay for just names. Like I said, my Witness was $350.00, shoots 38 Super and 9x23, and out shoots the Colt anyway. Yes, I did see that it was bid up a few times already, but did not make your higher reserve. But it has been lower now for awhile and still has not sold. The other one for sale has been for sale a long time also and he is going to have to find a real sucker to pay that sort of money.

    Actually, my dog is a purebred, registered and papered. And no, my C6 is not a Ferrari, but it is just as good for 20% the price, read some car magazine comparisons. Again, I don't pay for the name. And I have lots of Colts: the 9x23, a Z40, Pony, Pocket Nine, couple of Pythons, couple of Diamondbacks, some Troopers, several Series 70 1911s, and others. I just don't pay the silly prices that scalpers are now asking for such. So, whatever DUDE.

    a corvette is not a ferrari and it doesn't matter if its "just as good" in ten years your c-6 will be worth nothing and the ferrari will be worth double
    a wittness is not a colt and (considering the guns you own I would think you would appreciate that)...there are no wittness collectors!!

    So...do you own a Ferrari? They are not streetable machines, they are made for the Autobahn and to show off, that is it. They don't hold their value well, you can get the older models like the 308GT-4 for $25K: http://www.cannillomotorsports.com/pastinventory/308gt4/308gt4.htm And then you have to pay big bucks to the mechanics to keep them running, notice the ad saying the service was $6155.00 I can service my C6 myself for about $200.00 and I can drive it every day and get 27MPG on the highway doing it and it is perfectly at home putting along in the thick commuting traffic we have around here. Try that in a Ferrari, don't think so. And, yes Colts are nice. I have numerous ones, all bought new years ago, but the scalping that is being done on them is outrageous. And I don't play that game. You have a nice day playing it.

    you are agreeing with me but for some reason you can't see it...
    corvette is a better car for your purpose. ferrari is a better car for collectors who can afford what hey want
    to answer your question I have owned several ferraris (308, 328 and mondial) and more than a dozen corvettes...I have had 11 porsches and countless camaros, firebirds and chevelles...the ferraris were my favorite for showing off (the porsche my favorite to drive) and corvette is so...wanna be...
    you're relatively new here and hopefully you'll learn a lesson I learned when I started...if you can't say something nice....so if you think my price is too high put your gun on there and sell it for less.
    just to teach me a lesson


    and if you want to be mad at scalpers write a nasty gram to the guy trying to get twice what Im asking

    I can see scotts points though.
    Look at what a winchester brought right after they shut their doors.
    PC800 stated that he bought all his Colts new and expects out of production colts to still be priced the same as they were when they were new. Not going to happen and a true collecter knows this.

    I don't expect Colts to bring the same as they did years ago. But when a seller brings up his auction as "ever seen one of these?? collectors note" he must realize that not all collectors will pay the crazy prices that some sellers are asking. Especially a relativley obscure one such as the 9x23. His auction and the other auction has been running for many months, he lowered the reserve and still has not sold it. Seems the market is telling both sellers what the guns are really worth. And when scott starts saying things like DUDE and your dog is not a purebred and your GM is not a Ferrari, well that is rather childish. Oh, just noticed that post has disappeared. Why? Well, scott good luck on selling it. I apologize for bringing up what the gun is really worth.

    I have no interest in autos, but the only handgun I regret passing was a Colt peacemaker with some very nice engraving. They wanted $1400, and today I would pull out the card in a heartbeat. When the right guy sees this it will be gone and he will be a happy camper.

    Scottm/all - the market will ALWAYS correct itself - up or down.

    Me...yep...give me Vette. It WILL handle anything on the road....about a couple 20-100 grand less. Why? Not ONE of us is a REAL pro driver. I guarantee, that I can take a farmboy from (pick your favorite state) put him in a vette and he will drive circles around whatever you want. Why? Because of the difference in drivers. Put the same farmboy in the ferrari...he will not drive it as hard - too afraid to break it!

    Maybe a little late to chime in here,but In defense Of Scott, not that he needs defending, his price is very much right on.A friend of mine just bought one here in CT for $975,not in as good shape as Scotts.The place he bought it is in the NW corner of the state,not really heavily populated.The dealer is noted for his fair prices.
