Removing lead from ports?

There is the Lewis lead remover system and one that uses electrolysis. I choose that hard way and scrub, and scrub and scrub with the brushes and patches until its completely out. Its hard work and may tell you a tale about the the ammo being too hot and melting the lead. Maybe some jacketed bullets or a harder lead mix on the reloads, or a different powder if you are doing your own reloads.

A good question to put to the reloading experts on the reloading forum if that is your issue.

They were el cheapo Ultramax reloads...

I normally shoot jacketed rounds, but for $8.99 a box of 50, I figured that it'd be good blasting ammo...once again, it proves you get what you pay for.

If the ports vented out flush with the barrel's exterior, this wouldn't be an issue; but since Taurus decided to inlet the ports, it's hard to get in there with much of anything.

    Thanks for the info.

Use the dental picks,or is it a blued gun? If blued use a brass scraper.
