    Kids are supposed to be juvenile, but they are abusing the privilege.

    I disagree.

    What do they have now to worry about that other generations didn't have to?

    Couldn't have been to reassuing to duck under your desk at school pending possible nuclear inialation during the Cuban Missle Crisis or the Cold War.

    If anything, I believe society, values, family life/parenting (or lack there of) has changed causing kids to act out in worse ways than the generations before. Not to say that every generation didn't act out/rebel in one way or another.

    i agree about every generation having its rebels,but i don't know what to tell about comparing a nuclear attack "drill" to school shootings, stabbings, aids, and drugs that make you think you can fly

    i went to high in the early 80's, we had 3 social classes, climbers, burn outs, and jocks, didn't have to worry about religion, race, or anyone else's sexual preference, a fight was cut and dry, and sometimes created friends and respect

    and if some guy was to score with a hot teacher, he didn't rat her out
    {but i did get expelled once for wearing an "iran sucks" pin, and refusing to take it off}

    You make a good point. My father grew up in the Dust Bowl in South Dakota. People were starving.
    Then, when he turned 18, the Nazis and Japs tried to take over the world and he risked his life to fight them.
    I spent about 8 years ducking under my desk in nuke war drills at school.
    My father's generation, and mine, had stress to meet or exceed anything these kids have to deal with today.

    There are lots of young people out there on the edge of desperation all the time. They don't even know why they feel like they do, half the time. It's not just the popularity issues. It's an inner knowledge that their souls know about the ultimate and impending end of things as we know them. It's relentless anxiety that is the filter they see everything through. My heart goes out.

    Dang trying to keep up with the times!

    EMO= "Emergency off" switch is what it used to stand for.

    OK- want to know what emo is? its people wanting attention, they have nothing better to do, so they came up with "emo." Its pretty lame, really. "emo" again, is nothing, but a bunch of attention freaks.

    Thats my view on emo. I mean, there are some actually, emotional people, but 99% of them, are attention freaks.
