Evening ramble from me, jus' 'cause
Sitting here drinking a JD & coke, eating a bit of smoked Gouda cheese, listening to the dish washer run and the TV in the bedroom playing Little Lulu for the gran' and the TV in the livingroom playing "House".
Got hold of the former boss and asked about the S&W 22LR. He said it was definitely a Smith and Wesson but didn't fill in any of the other particulars. I figure his wife just got things screwed around in her head, she's prone to do that. He's on his way back to Italy for a conference and doesn't want to sell the pistol at this time. He thinks she'll need it for protection if any 'situations' come up.
So...looks like I'm focusing on the HP-22LR from Phoenix Arms. I know, I know, some of y'all don't think much of the Phoenix firearms. Everyone I've spoken to who has fired the HP-22LR, with a couple of exceptions, and the reports I've read on the internet, gives it good marks. They all admit it's a 'Saturday Night Special' but say for the price you pay you get a good, if not exceptional, firearm. So, I'm pondering, just don't know if I should spend the money now.
Worked on the Jonboat today. Replaced the transom. Still have a little bit of work to do on it but for the most part I'm done. Now to get the kicker worked on and running again.
Got a line on a couple of jobs in the 'local' area. Anywhere within 2 hours drive is local. Same kind of work just don't know what it's paying. Got a line on work in NC and TX too. Just prefer the close to home variety if I can get it.
Any suggestions for my next scrimshawed grip project? I'm open to anything just make it unique as possible. I'd rather not do what everbody else has already done, at least not in the same way they did it. Next one may be ivory if I have the right piece in my collection of Ivory pieces.
I guess that rambled enough for a Tuesday night.
