Craig's List gone PC ?
I was going to list a rifle locally on Craig's list and found that the sporting goods category states, "No firearms or weapons, please."
This is the first time I've seen that and I don't know how long it has been going on.
Is this new policy across the board at CL or do local moderators make the call?

Not new! CL has had that policy for some time now!
Remember it is ran by the gay community in San Fransisco![xx(][xx(][xx(]0 -
It has always had that restriction as far as I know.
You get flagged, so it depends on your local readers. I see a lot of firearms listed as "hunting equipment"[:D] once it gets flagged relist with new wording and use another e-mail address[:D]. I have learned to check the sporting goods and contact a seller before it gets deleted.

ive sold a lot of gun stuff on there, mags, grips, and bought lots of stuff, a handgun, ammo... You have to be very vague in your add. Should look something like this
Title: 45 for sale
Body: Email for details.0 -
It's been that way since day one. Craig lives in SF and they probably just don't want and never wanted any legal repercussions. 0 -
just a little factoid: Craigslist was originally a Male for Male networking site, it becam wildly popular in SF and the classifieds were added later. 0 -

That's interesting. Never heard of that.
Another factoid: eBay owns 25% of CL.0 -
I see firearms and ammo listed frequently on the Miami CL.
Most are vague, like suburban stated.0 -

Yeah, I was aware of several references to firearm listings at CL and I still think this addition to the "sporting goods" section is relatively new.0
