Who has XM or Sirius?
What do you think of the proposed merger?
I for one am against it. Competition is good for business. If there is only one satellite radio company, what will restrict pricing>
Also, I just upgraded radios believing that after the merger I would be fine. The new merger details states that to get the newest pay option (lower pay for selected channels) you will need a new radio.
So what do any of you think?

I have XM and I am against the merger for the same reasons as you. If they go up in price, I will go back to my I-pod and dump XM. 0 -
I have Sirius, I am against it as well. Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they merging because they are both losing money? 0 -
I have XM and agree with you guys that the merger is not going to be good for us the consumer. However, I would like to get NASCAR back on my (XM) radio so from that aspect I would like to see the merger. 0 -
I'm against it. 0 -
I quit xm, not much for the $ 0 -
Even here in the boonies i can find most anything i want (and more) on a regular radio...haven't seen the need for satellite. 0 -
I had Sirius for about 6 months then when I heard of a contract negotiated with that scumbag maggot Howard Stern I immediatly cancelled. 0 -
I've had XM for about 3 1/2 years - now in two cars. I love it although as Maa said losing NASCAR sucks. Give me somthing I want and I'll pay for it! (Please don't tell that to my wife!) 0 -
I love my XM and I have had it for 3 years, It the only way I get to listen to the music I want to listen to. My taist are very eccletic as I listen to everything from death metal and alternitive to classical and jazz. The local stations here in SoCal all play the same rehashed crap or it is all in spanish.
I am unsure if I am for or against the merger. I do not believe they would be able to raise the rates after the merger due to the fact that the pubic as a whole does not want to pay a monthly fee for radio, so if they raise the rates they will lose their customer base.0 -
I have XM and have had it for about two years. Had one to lock up back in the Summer and Delphi sent me a complete new system free of charge. Then XM gave me a year subscription free of charge after they found out that 99% of the places that sale XM radios do not work on them like they told me they could when mine locked up. So I am good until Dec. 2008 if things do not change.
I do not like the merger and hope that things do not change to much. Even still I will keep a satellite radio.
For listening to the same 20 songs over and over for a month or more and 18 hours a day listening to screaming car salesmen and Seek'em N Sue'em lawyers is something I just cant put up with running a Dozer 12 hours a day.
I do wish that at least one channel would pick up Paul Harvey's News and "Rest of the Story" programs. [:)] For that is about the only time that turn the XM off since I have had it.

edit
XM needs about a million people tell them to get rid of the GEICO commercials or they will be canceling their service. For that is why I have XM radio and pay for it. So that I do not have to listen to that crap.0 -
I love my SIRIUS. 0 -
I called xm, I did not want any thing to do with Sinus.
I was told I could keep my account just as it was.
so my bill stays the same, xm only.0 -
Merger will just make the price go up more likely... No competition. But yea, both are loosing money, from what I have heard. So, I guess they gotta do something... 0 -
I have XM and love it 0 -
I love my Sirius, and for all the people who hate Stern, Sirius will have a plan for 6.99 a month for 50 channels, and Howard's channels are NOT available for that rate. 0
