A word of caution re: tiny url
The tiny url is a great free service to keep forum pages from stretching and so forth. However trolls, hackers, and other nasty types have been known to use tiny url to disguise malicious links.
Use caution when you see a tiny url from a new member.
An alternate method to prevent page stretching involves a little more typing but works just as well, {url="monsterlongurlthatgoesonforeverin quotes here"}text that appears{/url} - - utilize regular brackets [ ] instead of shift brackets { }
I usually type {url=""}first then my text then {/url} and then copy/paste the monster URL in between the quotation marks.

would you not say that malicious new users can use the technique you just described to do the same thing? 0 -

In my browser, scrolling over a url displays it in the lower left hand corner of the window. With tiny url that's all you see.
Roll your mouse over the links in my signature and you should see the url somewhere on your screen.0
