Ammo find

also thought i would take the opportunity to do a little braggin. they had some coupons at work for so much off of a purchase of a so many dollar item. it was so folks could buy gifts. i bought ammo, for myself (got a birthday and Christmas coming up) after the coupon and my discount i managed to buy 100 round boxes of .45 acp fmj for $30 a box. i thougt it was a good deal so i emptied the shelf.

    Tell us about your ammo finds lately. It's nice to hear a good deal this day and age with prices going up. I read an earlier post from Kodiakk that got me thinking.

    Last week my father-in-law called and said he had some .45 ammo a friend wanted to sale. He said maybe 7 boxes @ $6.00. I told him to grab it and call me with a total. He called back and said it was 17 boxes @ $6.00 a piece. [:D] 230gr Remington JHP. Also picked up some .40 and a box of .357[8D]

    For the second time in the past couple of weeks I found some more ammo stashed in the house.

    We have an apartment abouve our garage and my wifes treadmill is up there. I was up there searching the desk for a cd-rom and I found a 100rnd box .45 this along w/ two boxes of .40 S&W. Apperently her tread mill had a squeak in it and she had snagged the ammo from my gun room to weigh it down and stop the squeak.

    Kinda like a little b-day present for me. As I am always buying a little here and there. [:)]

    15 boxes (20 rounds each) of Remington 130 grain Core-Lokt 270 Win.
    (almost makes me want to buy mike55's Browning)
    About 300 round of pellets for an airgun.

    1 Fallkniven - Model A1 knife, w/sheath.
    A bulls Bag rifle bag.
    A Mini-14(?) recoil buffer.
    4 Bushmaster front site pins, a set of punches for the Bushmaster, and a carbon scraper for same.
    A Seekonk T handle torque wrench for mounting Leupold MkIV (and others) scope base and rings.
    (set @ 65 in.lbs.)

    And two hours of good conversation.
    $130.

    Wow. I couldn't pass that up, even if I didn't have a .40. I once bought a 9mm Mak because I ran into some ammo cheap. I always wanted one so it was good motivation.

    Tell ya, even good brass for reloading is getting some great money. I had a handful of bids in on 500rds of LC once fired brass and it was pushing $90-$100[:0]

    Found two old boxes of 30 Remington @ flea market yesterday. $15 a box. Buddy still uses it to hog hunt with. Will give to him as he says it is hard to find.

    Found 4 rds of Plant .42 Cupfire revolver cartridges at one show- owner wanted a dollar for the 4. <GRIN> Walked to other end of show, sold 3 rds to a dealer for $60.

    Picked up two boxes(40 rds) of Remington Core-Lokt in .270 for ten cents a box. Wal-Mart had some stuff on clearance. Wish they had more, I would have bought all they had.

    Glad it wasn't Spanish or Indian. I used Portuguese in my last 3gun match. I know it doesn't but it should say "Match Grade" on the side of the box. Have you opened it yet? Blister packs or Bandoleers? I like the older stuff better, but both are great. BTW, great find.[;)]
