    Pa,

Not sure we can stay over. If you guys are going to Cabelas on Saturday the 14th., we will load up the Hudson and drive out to Cabelas for the day. Maybe have supper across the street at Cracker Barrel.

    What hotel did you book?

    PA,

I was appalled when I read my email this morning. (Did I say appalled?) That was porno that you sent me, imagine sending porno to a man who almost became a priest, but they threw me out when they learned that I was Protestant.

I had to let it play about ten times just to make certain that I wasn't missing something. I even had Mrs njretcop watch it, as she is more holy than I am and she didn't see anything religious in it either.

Whatever you do DON'T ever......................take me off your email list, hahahahahaha

After we are done for the day we shower and get our gear ready for the next day. Then we lounge around on our cots and play cards or watch DVD's on someone's laptop that they took along. Then the subject always comes up. There's always SOMEONE who wants to hold my Kabar! It's that extra special tanto tip that gets em I think!

    Hello Pa,
Got a question for you. In 1957 the Marine Corps issued me a WWII Kay-Bar knife which I still have and still use once in a while. At about the same time I "liberated" a Marine Corps bolo which seemed to be unattched to any one at the time. I picked it up because it looked kool and was heavy as lead. I still have it also and would like to have some information on it if you have any. The left side of the blade is marked U.S.M.C. over CHATILLON, N.Y. The back of the scabbard is marked U.S.M.C. over BOYT over 42. I remember you saying that CutCo had bought out Kay-Bar and I was wondering if you might know what happened to Chatillon. Where they taken over by someone or did they just go out of business?
    Thank you, Scout

Does Ka-Bar make a folding knife with plastic or rubber handle that is MADE IN THE USA??
I left my Buck knife that I use for field dressing, with a gut pile in the woods. I need to replace it, and was considering a Ka-Bar, but notice they arent made in the states. I was looking for something like the "mule", but made right here. Any suggestions???

???Will Kabar be producing the new ASEK knife which will be issued to Army avaitors in the near future???

Apparently the ASEK will replace the old survival knife, which has been around since World War II. The older knife had problems with its leather grips that loosened with age and the sharpening stone that broke easily. Also, the old blade did not hold an edge well.

The ASEK can cut through an aircrafts Plexiglas windows and saw through its aluminum skin. A special separate blade can slash away seat belts with ease. In conjunction with its multifunction sheath, this cutting-edge tool can also be used as a hammer, a screwdriver and a precision-edge marker. the ASEK comes with a crushed diamond disk for precision sharpening.

Apparently two of the eight knife manufactures produced a sample that met all the requirements.

North East Township was first called Lower Greenfield. But when it was organized, the name North East was given because of its position as the most northeastern township of the original sixteen townships.

North East was the first of the lakeshore townships to be settled. Joseph Shadduck, who came from Vermont, was the first, purchasing a tract in 1794 near the center of the township. George and Henry Hurst, from New Jersey, followed and, with Shadduck, made a settlement. By 1820, the township was 1068 residents; by 1880, it had 2152.

The first school was formed in 1798. in 1814 a log schoolhouse was built and school was taught by Joseph Neeley. The first hotel was the Brawley House, built in 1833. the first bank was formed in 1860 at the corner of Lake and Main Streets.

The Presbyterians formed the first church in Erie County, in North East Township, in 1801. it was formed in the house of William Dundas, which was later converted into Burgett Tavern. Henry Hurst then gave five acres to the Presbytery, which built a log church building on what is now North East Cemetery.

The first road was cut through from Freeport to Greenfield in 1797.

My wife and my families live in Edinboro, the south end of Erie county. I always figured it was Northeast since it was north and east of where I grew up[:D].
