Man Charged With Beheading Dog, Sending it to Owner
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- There's been an arrest in the beheading of a dog that drew worldwide attention because the head was delivered to the dog's teen-age owner in a gift box.
A 24-year-old man is being held on suspicion of terroristic threats in the death of Chevy, a four-year-old Australian shepherd mix who belonged to 17-year-old Crystal Brown of St. Paul, Minnesota. Charges, including animal cruelty, could be filed later.
Chevy disappeared last month. Two weeks later, Crystal found a gift box outside her door that contained Valentine's Day candy and Chevy's head.
Crystal's grandmother says the suspect and her granddaughter are friends, but he wanted to be her boyfriend.
Crystal has received an outpouring of cards, dog toys and treats for her new puppy from as far away as Australia. A 25-hundred-dollar reward offered by the Humane Society quickly grew to 20-thousand.

When I was little boy
I knew an old Irishman
thru my dad and I can remember
this guy telling us
how he got rid of nuisance dogs.
He would wipe a sponge in bacon
fat , tie the sponge small with
some sort of string and feed it
to the dog ,the string would rot
and the dog would die a slow death.
didn't like that dastard then and if
I could remember his name I curse him now.
Someone should have done that to him.
