eBay scamming

    I get about a dozen of those per day, and never ever click anything
    in the message body. If they're real questions they'll also be in
    "my ebay" and I will only reply to ones found there.

    I go through My eBay, also----these messages were in My eBay. Both were registered members of eBay.

    never click a link in an e-mail and open it up, especially if it ask you to sign in. Best thing to do is type in the website that you have to access. that's like the bank i deal with, they send me e-mails on certain things and always include a link, but i never sign in through the link as it may be a phisher on the other side.

    There are entire forums dedicated to discussion of how to steal and scam people.

    For example The Temple of the Screaming Electron which is one of the oldest if not the oldest internet disucssion boards extant. They are dedicated to the concept of free speech and one of their discussion boards is titled "Bad Ideas"
