    Sad,

My sister tought at high school and was told by the principal that she WAS to pass a football player in her class. He knew he could not fail so would show up for class every session with no books or anything and sit in his chair and stair out the window and not participate.

At least he showed up and was not disruptive.

She gave him a "D" - I told her she should have given him an "A".

The school has a "no pass, no play" policy.

I teach the real estate class for licensing at a local community college.
Over the past 4-5 yrs I've noticed about 20% of the class beginners end up passing the whole class. Up until last year, anyone failing was allowed to re-take the final...sometimes more than once.

However, after a fashion I could take no more and I told the class coordinator NO MORE! I told her I absolutely refused to give retests to ANYONE, ANYMORE. IF they failed, tough! Not everyone is cut out to be an appraiser.

2 days ago I received a contract for this forth coming set of classes starting end of August. Handwritten note attached said...You Win!

Yes, I know I'm teaching college, but, the same principle has to be satisfied or we continue to Dumb Down America.

Could you maybe shorten that link?

    if you do [ url = " h t t p : / / etc. " ]Some text [ / url ] (just without spaces) it won't stretch the page 'cause now it's a PIA to read.

quote:"It's almost as if you stick to your morals and your ethics, you'll end up without a job," Mr. Lampros said in an interview.

This seems to be the case not only in education but in many fields of endeavor.
