    I haven't done it. I like a little extra rus prevention on mine.

    Drobs,.....I understand that, but mine is not exposed to anything severe, moisture wise. Thanks for the link, as I tried Google but never came up with anything specific.
    I was wondering if you couldn't just use some fine grit sandpaper, and then down to steel wool, and then some rubbing compund and a polishing wheel, but I would rather follow what others have aready done. If I do it, I am only going to do the visible part, and the charging handle.

    I'm sure either way would be fine. Maybe try on the left side of the bolt carrier that is hidden by the dust cover 1st.
