AK47 Bolt Carrier Finish Question

Has anyone here ever polished, or jeweled the bolt carrier on an AK47?
I know the Yugos are in the white, and kind of prefer that look.
Mine, as some know is a Vector Arms Bulgarian, and the carrier is parkerized I believe like the rest of the rifle.
I have been thinking of bringing it back into the white like a Yugo, and polishing, or having it jeweled possibly,........at least the visible part.
How feasible is this, and would some of you "aficionados" suggest even thinking about doing it?
Any info, or advice would be appreciated, like always![;)]

    I haven't done it. I like a little extra rus prevention on mine.

    Drobs,.....I understand that, but mine is not exposed to anything severe, moisture wise. Thanks for the link, as I tried Google but never came up with anything specific.
    I was wondering if you couldn't just use some fine grit sandpaper, and then down to steel wool, and then some rubbing compund and a polishing wheel, but I would rather follow what others have aready done. If I do it, I am only going to do the visible part, and the charging handle.

    I'm sure either way would be fine. Maybe try on the left side of the bolt carrier that is hidden by the dust cover 1st.
