Speaking of dogs
I took in a twelve year old English Springer, somebody dumped him on the side of the road. I've named him Bard, but I should call him Velcro, since I can't move around without him by my side.
Well anyway, I've had him to the Vets and it turns out he had an ear infection, which was treated..does anybody have a trick or procedure for keeping his ears clean? I don't want to go poking around and do something stupid.
Smart dog, speaks three languages...has two engineering degrees, and shoots pool.......[:)]

Do Police Departments carry any kind of insurance on police dogs?
Recently a police dog was shot & killed in the line of duty in Joplin Mo.
Evidently a HUGE deal. In the news for weeks. Lots of public outpouring.
Dog had a funeral that would rival a president. I wouldn't be surprized if they didn't put up a statue or name a Library after him.
Now they (The PD) are asking for donations to get a new dog.
Just curious if they are taking advantage.0 -
I heard they flew flags at half-mast for him. Not sure how I feel about that. I also heard that the police dept. did not have the purchase of a new dog figured into the budget. They quoted 15K over the radio. I live close enough to be able to find out. 0
