New Guy Saying hi!

Hello!
Like it says i'm the new guy! Both to the forum, and the sport of shooting!
Im from north east wyoming, and im 26, married and have an 8 month old son.
Although ive always been around hunters, and firearms, even owning a couple rimfires, ive never been to into it. Untill last fall when a friend of mine took me with him to shoot his buck. We drove around, enjoying the Black hills National Forest on the 4 wheeler, and after a great day of sightseeing/hunting he bagged a little 3 pointer. I was hooked! One problem though. i didnt like the recoil of his 7mm mag savage! After much thought and research i decided on a 25-06 for my first high power rifle. PLUS walmart had one for a song with a scope on it!
After asking my beautiful wife for the right to spend some of our heard earned money on a new rifle, i went back to walmart only to find that it had been sold! They had two other model 70 winchesters there, though. One in 30-06 and the other in 243 WSSM. i chose the short mag, because i didnt want the recoil.
now, ammo for that short mag is getting hard to find! i wish i would have known this before i bought the rifle, and i would have chose the 06!
i got some brass off ebay, and a buddy of mine loaded me up 200 rounds with 44 grains of powder, and 100 grain nosler partitions bullets, so im set!
After a few trips to the range, i got hooked on actually shooting. The next thing i know.. there i was asking ( begging) the wife for a little more cash to get a hand gun!
So... In to the picture comes the Glock 22! I LOVE that thing! i shoot remanufactured ammo thu it, and i have put hundreds of rounds thu it without a single hitch! i love it so much, htat i drug my wife out to shoot, and even she liked it so much, she started shopping for a pistol!
She wanted a revolver, "cause they are sexy" So.... the next one to come into the picture is a S&W model 60, J-frame .357. She loves it! She likes the regular 'ol lead bullet 38 specials, but she isnt afraid to pound out a box of +p's or even .357 mag's!
now, im more accustomed to the recoil of a rife, so i want something that will realy take down an elk if i should be so lucky to draw one this year.
now, in comes my father-in-law with his 'hunting rifle' he got it from his grandpa, and has pretty much done nothing but sit on a shelf for 25 years...
Its a Remington model 1903 in 30-06. open sights with a flip up rear site. This gun is like brand new! I took it apart and cleaned and oiled it, and it fires so smooth! I have since decided this year for my Buck, im going to use it... open sights and all! I feel like there is something spiritual about hunting, and as primitive as you can make it, the more spiritual it is. i have a buddy that hunts with his 32-40 single shot marlin, and he tries to get almost as close as a bow hunter when he deer hunting!
I really like vintage stuff, like my 54 harley. Im looking for a real WW1 1911 in working order, and also id like to get me an old marlin lever action single shot, either 38-55 or maybe a 45-70!

all in all, i am trying to be an american. Im not only trying to protect my right, but ENJOY them too! My wife bought me my first firearm ( taurus pump action 17hmr) almost 5 years ago, and its taken me a long time to realise how much i enjoy shooting!
i hope to become a good memeber of this site. i will try to contribute, and hope to learn a lot from everyone on here!
